    Love it

I have my 6 dogs on frolic and they all love it. It's at a great price point as well. I'm a dog groomer and tell all my grooming customers about it as well

    Has improved our senior's attitude

We've been giving the frolic supplement to our 10 yr old boy Linus for about 7 months now. He has become less of a grumpy old man, and more playful. It has helped a lot with his joint stiffness, and we plan to keep him on frolic indefinitely. He won't eat them whole, but has no problem eating them when they are crushed up in his food. I also feel good supporting this brand. I love that it is a small company, and that they do work with senior dogs.

    Impressive results!

I bought these as a preventative to keep my dog’s joints from getting worse. He’s almost 13, so he needs some extra support! I didn’t expect to see an improvement in his everyday life, but he is now jumping on the couch easier! These are much cheaper than the ones I bought in the past. I love that I can easily crush the tablets to mix into my dogs food without him noticing!

    My Pups Love It!

I have tried other supplements and my GSD absolutely dislikes it. She even goes as far as spitting it out when I try to mix it with her food. With Pebble Natural's Frolic, she thinks its a treat. I will definitely purchase and recommend to others should anyone asks.

DEGENERATIVE JOINT DISEASE: A GUIDE TO JOINT HEALTH IN DOGS AND CATS

Recognizing and treating degenerative joint disease (DJD) in pets is essential to keeping our companions comfortable and active as they age. One of the most common causes of pain in animals, DJD is due to chronic wear and tear on the joints resulting in loss of the joint’s protective cartilage “cushion”. There are a number of causes that can contribute to DJD -- including trauma, genetics, conformation and nutrition -- and successful treatment likewise requires more than one approach.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY DOG HAS DJD?

With their natural exuberance and eagerness to please, it can be difficult to recognize when a pet is in pain. DJD is often subtle, with owners first noticing that their pet just seems to be “slowing down”. Specific signs to watch for include:

    • Increased difficulty getting up or laying down
    • Limping, especially just after getting up
    • Reluctance to jump up or down from previously well-loved furniture
    • Less enthusiasm for play sessions, walks or games of fetch
    • Irritability in a previously good-natured animal

Once DJD is suspected, there are a number of steps you can take to help protect your pet’s joints and ensure as many happy years of pain-free mobility together.

    SUPPLEMENTS

High quality joint supplements containing glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate and MSM are one of the first lines of defense against emerging DJD. With ingredients that help to protect and rebuild cartilage, supplements such as Frolic help ensure your dog’s body has the building blocks it needs to maintain optimal joint health.

    HEALTHY WEIGHT

No one enjoys a diet, but one of the best things you can do for your arthritic pet is to help them achieve their optimal weight. Extra pounds mean extra stress on joints, and shedding even a little extra weight can make your pet feel years younger.

    PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS

When supplements are not enough, your veterinarian will likely recommend adding a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) or other pain medication to your pet’s treatment regimen. These can either be used as needed or on a daily basis, depending on your pet’s degree of discomfort.

    EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL THERAPY

Moderate, low-impact exercise can help maintain range of motion and prevent loss of muscle mass in the arthritic pet. In addition to traditional leash walks, some exercises that may be particularly beneficial include:

    • Swimming
    • Walking over uneven terrain like sand, gravel or cushions
    • Repeated sit-to-stands to help build core strength
    • Helping your pet balance on 3 legs in order to build muscle in limbs they may be favoring

During all exercise, remember to follow your pet’s lead. If they show signs of fatigue or distress, it’s time for a rest.

    ALTERNATIVE MODALITIES

Alternative medicine is no longer just for people. Acupuncture and laser therapy are increasingly available at vet clinics and pet rehabilitation centers, and can be an excellent addition to your pet’s healthcare regimen.
